Thank you for your interest.
We are a friendly club, founded in 1985, and now with some 130 members.
Our activities include:
- Monthly Meetings on the FOURTH Thursday of the month (except December)
- Annual Daffodil Charity Show
- Annual Flower Vegetable and Craft Show
- Workshops (if requested)
Please take a look around our site. We’re sure you’ll find something of interest.
‘WONDERFUL’ is how many of our members and guests described the talk on layering, that Fergus Garrett gave at our October meeting at Tollbar. A delayed start due to IT issues did not detract from Fergus’s incredibly interesting and enthusiastic presentation. Using examples from Great Dixter, but relating to our smaller gardens where we want to make the most of the seasons in every location, we were swept along by this illuminating talk. What a great evening! Thank you, Fergus!
There will be a few changes at our meetings in the Village Hall as we feel our way back to normality.
The Committee asks that you wear a mask when entering and moving around the Hall. This can, of course, be removed when you are in your seat.
No refreshments will be provided on the night, but you are very welcome to bring your own.
The raffle will be there as usual, with grateful thanks to Janet. (Please note: Janet is retiring from the end of the year. If you feel able to take on this role please let the Committee or Janet know.)
If you would like to donate your membership subscription to Cystic Fibrosis – this year’s charity – we would be delighted to accept it!
PLEASE LOOK AT THIS WEBPAGE AND AT YOUR EMAILS TO CHECK WHAT IS HAPPENING BEFORE COMING TO ANY MEETING. The safety and well being of the membership at the present time is still paramount and we must adhere to the Government Guidelines. If these should change then we will inform you, as quickly as possible, if these changes affect future Speaker Meetings, by email and on this website.
The total that Jean and Bill have raised towards this year’s charity, Cystic Fibrosis, is now £640! They did this through the sale of daffodils, earmarked for our Show, donations from membership fees and Rob Potterton’s plants. These were kindly donated by Rob due to the continuing situation at his nursery at Nettleton during lockdown. Just to reassure everyone, the plants are sold on their driveway to passers-by only!
Allan has some handmade dibbers that can be had for a donation to CF at the next meeting.
Fire Regulations restrict numbers in the hall but provided we have fewer than 100 people, (we average 85) you will be welcome to come and join us.
